DRAGON NATURALLY SPEAKING

I just purchased Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9 and am using it to write this blog I am finding even after a little use, it's working pretty good on common words, but on some of the e-mail addresses and websites it doesn't seem to do very well.I was able to get the software for about $90 with a $40 rebate so for $50, it's a pretty good deal. I did use the software in the past, but it didn't work quite as well. Now, I think with the revised version as well as a faster computer works much more efficiently and effectively.

I plan to use the software to write the newsletters for our website for the ATV club and for other things, and it will obviously work a lot faster than I can type a will have to go back and make corrections as I have in this text here, but it can be much faster than me trying to type in almost 2 or three fingers. This last paragraph was dictated directly with no corrections and it came out exactly what I said, so it's worked pretty well.

I plan to use this software along with a microphone to dictate my thoughts for the software that I will talk about in the site as well the hardware. I think over time, it will get more more used to me and it will become more and more accurate.

If you have an extra $50, I recommend buying the program and giving it a try, it works pretty well overall.

COFFEE CUP SOFTWARE

If you build websites and don't want to spend a ton of money on some pretty cool applications, check out Coffee Cup Software. They have a couple of dozen of small programs that will bring a dull site to life. I own a few of them including: the Web Video Player, PixConverter, Flash Form Builder, and Flash FireStarter. The average cost for each app is around $30. However, if you enter the code 226STS you will receive a 20% discount. If you're not sure if you want to spend the money, download it for free and use it for awhile and then decide. I have found them basic, but able to do the job. The other cool thing is that upgrades are free for life. You definitely don't find that often.

If you check out the one website I built for Renner ATV Riders you will see the Video Player, the Flash Form Builder in action. Click on the links to get to the appropriate place in the website. Feel free to look around.

These two apps are the cheapest and easiest way I have found to convert and publish video in Flash and to create forms and have the results mailed to an address or addresses. They are both very easy to use.

Lastly, I have had apps from Coffee Cup software for over five years and they have always provided free updates and continue to develop new apps for the average person. I often check out their site to see what they have added.

See you next time /Dave

NEW BLOG STARTED

Just started this Blog on Blogger and hope to post some of my thoughts on some of the gadgets I already have as well as ones I will purchase in the future. I'll start in the next few days with some reviews and comments, so check back. Maybe I'll be talking about other things too--who knows! I'll just have to see what happens.
